The community of Madrid gives a subsidy of up to €600 for the purchase of an electric bicycle.

What is this grant and who can apply for it?

This subsidy is offered by the Community of Madrid (CAM) for all those who purchase an electric bicycle with a maximum price of €4,000. What Madrid wants to do is facilitate the purchase of electric bikes by giving a grant of a maximum of €600 to give a boost to all those who are thinking of buying an electric bike but are held back by the prices they have, since we all know that they are not vehicles cheap.

All natural persons can obtain this subsidy very easily, that is, anyone who buys an electric bicycle. But it is that the self-employed and SMEs or Micro-enterprises also opt for this subsidy so that they use the ebike to move around the city in a sustainable way and on some routes, even faster than by car.

Requirements that the electric bicycle must meet:

• The bicycle must be electric and have a pedal assist motor. In addition, the motor must have a maximum power of 250W (all our electric bicycles comply with it) and that it does not exceed 25km/h, which is what is allowed by law.
• The battery has to be equal to or greater than 248Wh , all our urban and mountain electric bikes comply with it.
• It must have a complete lighting system . It does not need to come standard with the ebike, you can add it once you buy the electric bike.
• The invoice cannot exceed €4,000, VAT included.

Documents to provide to process the subsidy for electric bicycles in Madrid:

Getting the subsidy for ebikes is very simple, you must provide a series of documents within a period of 3 months after the purchase of the electric bike, which are the following:

• A copy of the DNI, NIE or NIF of the person requesting the subsidy.
• The registration certificate , only those people who reside in Madrid or the Community of Madrid can apply for this electric bicycle subsidy.
• Copy of the purchase invoice , it is important that it does not exceed €4,000. In addition, the invoice must contain the basic information of the purchased electric bike: brand, model and serial number (both the frame and the battery).
• In addition, a responsible declaration of the electric bicycle will have to be detailed in the purchase invoice, that is, the requirements that the ebike must meet that we will explain below .
• Finally, they also ask for a certificate confirming that you are up to date and that you comply with all the tax obligations against Social Security.
